Keith Fransella
Keith raced on the short ovals from 1966 to 1977. In Superstox
his number was number 215, Auto Speedway no3 and finally GP
Midget no 41. He kept records of all his race results and shared
them with us some years back.
Keith's first race was in November 1966 at Wimbledon. He raced
Superstox until 1970 and made it to Blue Grade.
Summary of Superstox racing: Wimbledon 41 meetings, Walthamstow
(12), Aldershot (72), Eastbourne (11), Brands Hatch (6), Cross-in-Hand
(6), Lydden Hill (1). 149 Meetings in total, approximately 300
races.
In Auto Spedeway Keith raced in 21 meetings during the 1971
& 72 seasons for the Wimbledon Canaries/Dons team.
His Midget debut was at Aldershot on 3rd March 1973. He finished
4th in his first race and 2nd in the next. A top three finish
in the second race meant that he had to start at the back of
the grid in race three where he still managed 8th position.
He won his first Midget race at his third meeting which was
at Ipswich on 25th March.
Keith raced a Fireball mk2 for the entirity of his Midget career
but joined the club at a media day in the 1990s and tried his
hand at the wheel of Kevin Sutterby's mk4.
